SYN:
With aspirations of becoming movie
stars, the Stooges hop on a boxcar and head to Hollywood. Willing
to try just about anything to get into pictures, they sneak into the
Carnation Pictures Studio and are mistaken for the new management
team from the East. The quickly gain complete control of the lot by
tricking the general manager, Fuller Rath into thinking they were
the cat's meow when it comes to this "picture racket". Showing
off their new authority, the Stooges invade a movie sound stage and
force director Cecil Z. Sweinhardt and his cast to quit. Moe quickly
becomes the new director and Curly and Larry fill in as Carnation's
romantic screen couple. When Rath learns that the Stooges are imposters,
however, he chases them off the set with the help of two studio guards,
right into the lion's den. After a narrow escape, Moe, Larry and Curly
race out the studio in a limousine, with the lion inside, for parts
unknown.

Hits:
-
Did you know that the Stooges themselves
were movie fans...the actor most admired by the trio was Spencer
Tracy.
-
The scene where the Stooges demonstrate
kissing techniques was cut when originally released to television
in 1959.

This is one of the funniest shorts
I've seen. I watch this short over and over again for the scene
where Curly and Larry are told to "put action into those puppets".
