SYN:
Studio President B.O. Botswaddle
is conferring with film director Herbert Herringbone over his trouble
in locating a leading man to portray a gorilla, opposite Mirabel Mirabel,
in Darkest Africa. Who could they find to essay the missing
link? Following their meeting, the two stumble across the three studio
janitors, none other than Moe, Larry and Curly rehearsing Shakespeare
in the broom closet. Herringbone immediately sees his ape. The lead
gorilla will be played by Curly and Moe and Larry will be his assistants
playing the roles as cavemen. The following day, the entire cast and
crew shift production to Africa, where the Stooges run into a witch
doctor by the name of Dr. Ba Loni Sulami, who sells "Love Candy"
(which produces instant passion when consumed). Curly is immediately
sold on the taffy-like substance, buying some for his leading lady,
Mirabel. While filming a scene, however, Curly (in an ape costume),
has a face to face confrontation with a real female gorilla. She chases
Curly through the jungle and back to the witch doctor's hut. Curly
offers the gorilla Love Candy, but the animal doesn't accept his peace
offering. Curly then swallows the potent stuff himself and, like a
shot from Cupid's bow, springs after his newest sweetheart, the gorilla.

Did you know that Monte (also spelled
Monty) Collins, who appeared as "the Director," was also
a writer, and wrote some scripts for the Stooges? He even played
the Stooges' mother in Cactus Makes Perfect (1942).
